The Mess That Made Me
Jacob's first book: from South Louisiana and the Navy, through the mess he thought was too big for grace, to faith, healing and meaning.
About the book
The Mess That Made Me is the story Jacob has been circling in his writing for years, told in full for the first time. It starts in South Louisiana, under the live oaks, inside what he calls “a pocket of grace I did not deserve and refused to steward.” It runs through his years in the U.S. Navy, the weight he carried home, and the season when life looked good from the outside and felt empty on the inside.
It is not a story about having it all together. It is an honest account of how a man who believed his mess was too big for grace found out it wasn’t, and what changed when he stopped hiding it.
Where it stands
The book is in development. Jacob is writing it now, and pieces of the story first appear in From Mess to Meaning. Subscribe there to follow along and to hear first when there is news on a release date.
